This article explains how signals, cycles, and bot activations work on OCT24. These concepts describe how the platform presents time-bound market inputs and how users may choose to participate using automated execution tools.
OCT24 facilitates execution based on user input and signal availability. It does not control market outcomes, generate predictions, or provide investment advice.
What Is a Signal?
A signal is a time-limited market input provided by external professional sources and displayed on the OCT24 platform for informational purposes.
Key points:
- Signals are not created or controlled by OCT24
- Signals are time-bound
- Signals may become available, update, or expire based on external conditions
- Viewing a signal does not require participation
Each signal is identified by a unique Signal ID and may include informational data such as timing references and historical metrics.
What Is a Cycle?
A cycle refers to the active time window during which a signal is available for execution.
Important characteristics:
- Each signal operates within a defined cycle
- Cycle duration may vary by bot type (e.g. shorter or longer intervals)
- Cycle timing is informational and may change due to:
- Market conditions
- Signal source behavior
- System optimizations
A cycle ending does not guarantee any specific outcome. It simply marks the end of that signalβs execution window.
What Is a Bot Activation?
A bot activation occurs when a user chooses to apply a selected amount to a specific signal using a Trading Bot.
Key rules:
- Activations are user-initiated
- Each activation is independent
- One activation applies to one signal
- Activations do not influence signal behavior or outcomes
Once activated, the platform facilitates execution steps associated with that signal.
Manual Activation vs Auto-Trade
Manual Activation
- User activates a bot for a specific signal
- User defines the allocation amount
- Each activation is performed individually
Auto-Trade (Optional)
- Automates the activation step using a user-defined amount
- Applies to one activation per eligible signal
- Does not increase frequency beyond system rules
- Can be enabled or disabled at any time
Auto-Trade automates execution steps only. It does not change signal behavior or affect outcomes.
How Signals, Cycles, and Activations Work Together
- A signal becomes available
- A cycle defines the time window for that signal
- The user decides whether to activate a bot
- If activated, execution occurs within the cycle
- After the cycle ends, the result is recorded
At every stage:
- The user controls participation
- OCT24 facilitates execution
- Market conditions determine outcomes
Important Responsibility Notes
- Signals are informational inputs, not recommendations
- Cycles define timing, not outcomes
- Activations do not guarantee results
- Market conditions can change rapidly
Users remain responsible for all decisions related to participation and allocation.
